Hey guys, KeithGeo here, just posting up some news and info on GamersIreland on the net and community sites in general that support us or are recommended by us. This is by no means gaming news, just giving you some info on the latest happings with GamersIreland, its staff and the community.

First up I’d like to point you in the direction of our friends over at www.Ballyfermot.ie . Myself Mahonp and OReillyT are all Ballyfermot Natives and Ballyfermot.ie is the No1 community site on the web. It’s got up to date news on all events and happenings around Ballyfermot, Sections on the History of Ballyer, some blogs by locals and a helpful forum that is ready to answer any questions you might have about the community. Definitely worth checking out.

If the Xbox is your main console and you enjoy some competitive gaming then you might want to check out the World Gamer Live site, setup a few years back WGL brings together Irish xbox gamers in a LAN competition. The events run a few times a year and are great craic, I’ve attended a few myself and they are always enjoyable. Plenty of prizes on offer for the best individual gamer, Teams and an overall best of competition winner. Competitions are played across variety of games with something to interest everyone. On another non game related topic, BUT big time related to GamersIreland.  Paul (MahonP) plays in a Trad band in Darkey Kellys on Fishambles street in Dublin every Saturday and Sunday.  If you haven’t dropped in already you should as soon as possible, it’s a great afternoon out, the lads are one of the finest Traditional Irish Music bands I have ever seen and the place is always packed out the door.  The lads are called, funnily enough, “TheDarkeyKellyGang” and have just released their third cd which is available to buy at the gigs.  We will have a website setup soon for the boys but in the meantime you can check out the pub, DarkeyKellys facebook group here.  By the way, Pauls the one with the open mouth!

As our site grows from time to time i will post an update similar to this updating everyone on whats happening behind the scenes. In the near Future we hope to have some great competitions for you guys. We have some articles coming up on gaming in Ireland from different perspectives all the way from college courses in game design, to the games industry in Ireland.
