Game Budgets a Risky Business

According to a report on Games Industry the budget for the forthcoming God of War 3 is on target, currently $44 million! With the amount of profit to be made on popular titles these days it’s a risky business spending that much if you’re game is a flop. Gran Turismo 5 for example is currently hitting the $60 million mark and the game is yet to be released. With titles like Modern Warfare II and the Halo franchise raking in money you can see why developers are taking risks and spending big. The gamble does ont always work out though, take Sega’s Shenmue for example, still holding onto the record budget at $70 million.
